It's taken a while, but Marvel and Netflix have at last confirmed their specific plans with the Defenders miniseries. The two companies' MCU-based streaming shows – Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist – will eventually join up into a crossover team the way that the first Marvel films built up to Avengers, sometime in the coming years.

Before that, all the new series have to air, and Daredevil's got a second season (apparently some select other series will get extra seasons), which means there's probably a few years before The Defenders debut – which, as some have pointed out, means they'll be getting together right around the time of Avengers: Infinity War.

The two-part third Avengers film will reportedly see the world's heroes (along with the Guardians Of The Galaxy) pooling their resources to take on Thanos. In which case, the Defenders might very well find themselves moving from street-level threats to cosmic ones and the MCU with finally link its film and TV worlds.
