10 Most Controversial Award Ceremony Moments Of All Time

1. Jarvis Cocker vs Michael Jackson

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dZEWomOQVno It was the 1996 Brit Awards and Michael Jackson was on hand to give the star performance. It was a bizarre scene. He was singing Earthsong and actively portraying himself as a messianic figure surrounded by worshipping clergy and children. It was all too much bombast for a particular member of the audience that night. Jarvis Cocker, lead singer of Pulp, decided to hold a one man drunken protest. On stage, he pointed his ass in Michael's direction and in the ensuing scuffle to get him off stage three children were hurt. Cocker was questioned by the police. I know that you shouldn't speak ill of the dead, but Jackson's stage show that night was offensive - not just to Christians but to humanity as a whole. What kind of prick portrays himself as a messiah? Either a deluded mentally ill person who can't help it or a right bollix.
