10 Most Criminally Anti-Climactic Deaths In Film History

5. Bo Peep €“ Toy Story 3

Bo Ok, ok, ok. So she doesn€™t actually €˜die,€™ per se. Please don€™t have a pop at me in the comments just because I€™ve put her in here. But from a franchise perspective, she might as well be dead. A befitting her status as the main character€™s love interest, she€™s a major part of proceedings throughout the original Toy Story and has a substantial role in the second. Yet come the third, she€™s been €˜lost€™ as Andy got older, and all we get is one sad line and miserable look from Woody as he informs the watching audience that Bo, a character we knew and identified with, has just straight-up gone. Of course, this disappearance has a point €“ it€™s showing how cruel life has been for the toys, highlighting that not only have they been abandoned by the boy who once loved them, but have been subjected to various clear-outs and yard sales. I get that, and I can totally get on board with that, it just seems a shame that we don€™t see her at all, even in a flashback. Now, you may be arguing that I€™m demanding too much from my films, and you€™re probably right. But this was the love interest of one of the new icons in Disney, so it seems strange that they would just gloss over an important part of his history for the sake of making a throwaway point. Again, perhaps I€™m being too demanding, but surely they could have done something more with her €˜death,€™ as to make the same point in an even more compelling fashion? I don€™t think it would€™ve been out of place in the narrative to do such a thing, yet we were never given proper closure on Bo.
