Without spoiling anything, Zed, Maynard and the Gimp are involved in one of the most notorious scenes in cinema history, as well as one of the most frightening.

The scene just comes out of nowhere, leaving audiences wondering what on earth they have just witnessed. But, although many criticized Quentin Tarantino with going for the shock factor rather than a well thought out plot device, others praised the director for throwing the audience off in a deliberate and calculated procedure.

In fact, the movie just wouldn't be the same without it, and in some ways, it is kind of necessary for the plot to move forward. Some may disagree, but whatever the case, it sure is memorable.
