After a series of decapitations in the remote wilderness of the Andes, police officer Cruz (Victor Lopez) finds himself on a surreal and haunting hunt to find the monstrous culprit behind the killings.

What follows is a grizzly and nightmarish journey into the bizarre, as he follows a series of cryptic clues which revolve around the repeated phrase "Murder me, monster".

Argentinian mystery-horror Murder Me, Monster is certainly not for the faint of heart. Its blend of body horror and mystery will test the patience and stomachs of viewers. However, no moment is as utterly harrowing than its opening sequence.

Shot in one stunning long take, the film begins with the death of the murderer's latest victim: a woman with her throat slit who's desperately holding on to life - and her head.

She tries in vain to hold her head in place, the wound on her clearly visible and framed in close-up. It's a deeply unpleasant sight, but it's the sound design that makes this scene so hard to stomach: all that's heard is her rasping and gurgling as the blood gushes. Yes, it's as bad as it sounds.
