Just when you think it's safe to go back to the Internet and the stories couldn't possibly get any weirder than what we've explored already, it turns out that Jack Dorsey, Twitter's head honcho sent rap star Azealia Banks some of his beard trimmings to make an amulet to ward off evildoers. And it's not just famous people living their weirdest lives either: This week, a man was hospitalised with an infection in his lungs after years of sniffing dirty socks. So, like, behave yeah?

With all of that nonsense going on, it's no wonder that Hollywood and TV's biggest show-makers think they can get away with increasingly ridiculous things in the name of their art. After all, the world is so insane right now that Venom has overtaken Thor: Ragnarok at the global box office. You did that. You, right there. You're to blame.

That's nothing like the strangest thing going on in Movies and TV this week, though. So hold on to your butts...

10. Sonic Responds To The H8rz

Sonic Poster
Paramount

Last week, the special news that precisely nobody had been waiting for was released with the reveal of the first motion poster for the upcoming live action Sonic The Hedgehog movie and all was not well. Stopping short of actually revealing what the live action speedy hedgehog will actually look like, Paramount instead showed him off in silhouette and earned themselves a place on this very illustrious column in the process.

Naturally, because Sonic's legs were both long and weirdly hench at the same time, the Internet went positively nuts about them and the movie became a meme well before its even out. Faced with such round mockery, Paramount had to do something, so they've embraced the meme culture and responded in a surprisingly clever way, fake revealing more of Sonic's muscular legs and taking the banter like an absolute bunch of champs.

Still, that doesn't stop it being the absolute stuff of nightmares.

At least they're taking it on the chin, eh?
