3. Spider-Man: Far From Home Ignored Infinity War

Spider Man Far From Home Trailer 2
Sony

After weeks of speculation and lots of people who run fan accounts on Twitter and pretend to be In The Know guessing at the release date, Marvel Studios and Sony released the first trailer for upcoming Spider-Man sequel Far From Home.

It was great, we got to see the first look at Jake Gyllenhaal's Mysterio and some big old effects-heavy monsters and there seems to be lots of reasons to be excited, but there was one pretty big question hanging over the whole thing. Because Spider-Man is dead isn't he? Like, he was killed off at the end of Avengers: Infinity War and he hasn't had a chance to come back from the dead in Avengers: Endgame yet.

Now, this is all well and good for anyone who knows how that's going to go down, but imagine you're 8 for a moment and you say Infinity War. You bawled your eyes out. Your heart disintegrated into dust when Peter Parker tearfully pleaded to live and then again when he faded completely. And now you're presented with a trailer set in the same movie universe that in no way even acknowledges what happened. Not even a whisper. Imagine how confused you'd be.

On top of this, the whole reveal of the trailer was marred horribly by the decision to let Tom Holland debut it at 5:45am on Instagram Live, which led to an unsynched teaser, a very grumpy looking young man and the footage being obscured by an endless stream of content. Talk about accidental disdain for your own material.
