10 Most Irritatingly Improbable Sports Movies

3. Ladybugs

D2 The Mighty Ducks
Paramount Pictures

Ladybugs is a very strange little movie that somehow contains several seemingly impossible aspects. First of all, it is unbelievable that there is an astute businessman who looked Rodney Dangerfield up and down and not only pegged him as a soccer player, but delegated to him the running of his company's soccer team for preteen girls. Not cracker jack decision making there, to be sure.

But that is all completely eclipsed by the laughable suggestion that his girlfriend's fully pubescent teenage son Matthew could throw on a bobbed wig and a floral dress and NO ONE would figure out that he's actually a boy. He doesn't even try to change his voice at all, and there are moments on the field when he is bellowing at his teammates in a legit baritone.

Just saying, there is no conceivable way that the ref for any of these matches would not either demand that "Martha" be tested for steroids or straight up tell Dangerfield to get the boy off the field and stop treating them like an idiot.
