10 Most Likable Movie Villains Of All Time

4. Sandman (Spider-Man 3)

Spider-Man 3 had a laundry list of faults, one of which was the overstuffed cast of villains. Venom, Sandman, and New Goblin all deserved to be the big bad of their own film, not shoehorned into the same bloated carcass. But despite his underutilization and lack of screen time, Sandman - real name Flint Marko - managed to be one of the only likable things in this otherwise painfully depressing movie.

This, despite the fact that director Sam Raimi decided to retroactively make him Uncle Ben's killer. That alone should be enough to make the audience despise him, yet Marko's unwavering dedication to his daughter and total accountability let him remain a sympathetic figure.

In a way, Sandman is the actual heart of the movie, not Peter Parker. If Sam Raimi had decided to force the events of this movie through the perspective of Marko, it would have come off like the first season of Breaking Bad, but instead of being ravaged by cancer, the protagonist's body has been fused with a beach.

What a movie that would have been.
