9. "I Drink Your Milk Shake" - There Will Be Blood

there will be blood It could have been so different if Daniel Day Lewis had decided to take his most famous There Will Be Blood line a little more literally and either drank Paul Dano to death (the logistics are yet to really be worked out) or killed him with a milkshake after his infamous rant at the end of the film. Both would have added an odd full-stop to the end of Paul Thomas Anderson's excellent, occasionally volatile drama. But rather than being so literal, Day Lewis' Plainview took something else to hand when killing Dano's pastor Eli. After humiliating him, and forcing him to denounce God in vengeance for Eli's own humiliation of Plainview and on the promise of his help, the drunken millionaire flies into a rage, grabbing a bowling pin and beating the pastor to death in a vicious and memorable attack that typified Day Lewis' explosive performance.
