10 Most Misleading Movie Titles Of All Time

1. Cinderella Man (2005)

cinderella manExpectation: A revised fairytale in which our forgotten factotum is granted one wish from his fairy godfather and waits for his Princess to fit his foot into a glass slipper? A documentary about a very niche group of foot fetishists known as 'slipper-sniffers'? Reality: Russell Crowe punches men for a living and then goes home to kiss Renee Zellweger. Ostensibly a biopic of real-life boxer James J. Braddock, it's another of those against- all-odds, rags-to-riches, true underdog stories that only seem to exist within the world of sport. By beating heavyweight champion Max Baer, a man alleged to have killed two men in the ring, Braddock earned the nickname 'Cinderella Man' and became one of the few smiling faces spotted during the Great Depression. Naturally, Baer is portrayed as the villain of the piece - a storytelling shorthand that has drawn the wrath of his relatives. And while we're on the subject, surely Million Dollar Baby is the story of a landmark child insurance pay out? Which misleading movie titles were you shocked by?
