Reality: Russell Crowe punches men for a living and then goes home to kiss Renee Zellweger. Ostensibly a biopic of real-life boxer James J. Braddock, it's another of those against- all-odds, rags-to-riches, true underdog stories that only seem to exist within the world of sport. By beating heavyweight champion Max Baer, a man alleged to have killed two men in the ring, Braddock earned the nickname 'Cinderella Man' and became one of the few smiling faces spotted during the Great Depression.
