Doctor Who star Matt Smith has been absent from the trailers, posters, and just about anything and everything to do with Terminator Genisys so far. He was however seen in the first promotional images for the movie, and based on his attire, they appeared to indicate that he will be fighting alongside Kyle Reese and John Connor in the future-set scenes. However, rumours suggest that there is a lot more to the actor's role than first thought. The image above may have been misdirection, as one site claimed earlier this year to have been told that similar to Helena Bonham Carters role in Terminator: Salvation, Smith will be the antagonist system given form, who is said to be "different from the nebulous corporate villainy of Terminator 2 Judgment Day and vague apocalypse technophobia of the first."
