10 Most Overrated Movies Of 2014 (So Far)

1. Godzilla

Rotten Tomatoes Score: 73% Without question, Godzilla is the most overrated movie of 2014 thus far; a lumbering bore of a motion picture, masquerading as an exciting one. What's surprising is that the movie has received - for the most part - positive reviews, many of which have commented on how nice it is to find "human drama" in and amongst all the explosions and terror. Which movie were these critics watching? There's less human drama in Godzilla than there is in any one of Michael Bay's Transformer films - and that's saying something! Worst of all, 70% of this movie is exposition. Even if you enjoyed Godzilla as a blockbuster to merely pass the time, think on this for a second: is it a film you'd ever consider watching again? After all, re-living so much exposition isn't going to be enjoyable at all, especially when you already know what's going to happen. Sure, there were a few things to appreciate (such as the cinematography), but the characters were one-note, the script was overwritten, and the movie lacked - for the most part, anyway - its most essential element: Godzilla smashing sh*t up. Messy and humourless, at 73% it's way overrated! Like this article? Agree or disagree with our choices? Let us know in the comments section below.
