10 Most Paused Slasher Movie Moments

7. The Evidence Locker - Bride Of Chucky

Cabin In The Woods
Universal

By the time of 1998's Bride of Chucky, the Child's Play franchise well and truly had its tongue firmly in its cheek as it veered more towards the realms of comedy than out-and-out horror.

Perfectly encapsulating this spirit is a moment that had Child's Play fans reaching for the pause button, with Bride of Chucky's opening act playfully acknowledging certain other horror properties. As Charles Lee Ray's former beau Tiffany (Jennifer Tilly) looks to breathe new life into Chucky, she manages to wangle her way into the police evidence locker that houses the nefarious Good Guy doll.

In a grin-inducing move, we find that Chucky isn't alone in this lock-up.

Without mentioning them by name and not using exact replicas, Bride of Chucky then showcases the masks of Michael Myers and Jason Voorhees of the Halloween and Friday the 13th franchises, respectively, the knifed-glove of A Nightmare on Elm Street's Freddy Krueger, Leatherface's chainsaw from The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, and even some of the puppets from the Puppet Master series.

It was brief, but it was brilliant - as Bride of Chucky had people pausing the film to see which other famous horror properties they could spot during all of this.
