Sandra Bullock might have nabbed an Academy Award for Best Actress back in 2009, but that's not really proof as to whether or not she can act. The movie for which she won, The Blind Side, was surprisingly average - and though she was certainly passable in the film, there are other, better performances admist her filmography more noticeably apparent - and therefore worthier - of accolade. Still, Bullock is one of those inherently polarising actresses who people genuinely seem to either love, tolerate or hate in equal measure; mere utterance of her name will result in somebody either declaring that she's the best actress ever, or shaking their head and muttering: "I don't get the appeal at all." It doesn't help matters that Bullock seems to flit between good movies and bad movies like it's written into her contract; for every Gravity, there's an All About Steve. Her apparent indifference to quality has helped to render her as a polarising actress to end polarising actresses - it's hard to know where she stands as an artist, and it's kind of off-putting.
