10 Most Powerful Avengers We're Yet To See In The MCU

8. Hyperion

The Sentry
Marvel Comics

Hyperion was intended by writer Roy Thomas as a Superman pastiche. DC even briefly acknowledged the reference with a cameo in Final Crisis from a character called Hyperius.

As such, Hyperion has all the powers you might expect of your typical man of steel analogue. Superhuman strength, speed stamina, durability, flight and “atomic vision,” all come as standard for such a hero. Though he does of course have to keep an eye out for his own Kryptonite, “argonite radiation.”

The most notable thing about Hyperion however is the number of incarnations he’s had from across the Marvel multiverse. While most Superheroes have pretty convoluted back stories, it seems with Hyperion, rather than stuff new developments awkwardly into continuity, writers just pick a fresh one from another universe.

So it was in 2012 when Jonathan Hickman added another new Hyperion, “without all that baggage”, to his Avengers team.
