Production budget: $2,000,000 Worldwide gross: $62,630,732 Profit: 3,132% The second-most profitable movie this year would probably take home the prize as the most successful 2014 film most people have never heard of. Its been a good year for faith-based films, with Russell Crowe steering Noah to $362 million following its release in March and the aforementioned Heaven is for Real raking in the cash. 20th Century Fox may struggle to see much of a return from Exodus: Gods And Kings in light of the bible-based epics overly-generous budget, but Ridley Scotts latest film is still on the cusp of $100 million worldwide, and Son of God also registered a $26.5 million opening weekend in February. Gods Not Dead, which follows a Christian college student as he clashes with a philosophy professor who questions his beliefs, was made for just $2 million and released in March. Despite generally negative reviews, the film finished up with a final gross of over $62 million, making over thirty times its budget to secure its spot as the years second-best investment.
I watch movies and I watch sport. I also watch movies about sport, and if there were a sport about movies I'd watch that too. The internet was the closest thing I could find.
