Still, the general consensus was that it was actually an improvement on the first film and ambitious enough in scope to justify its own existence and even suggest another sequel needn't necessarily be a chore. Not many people would say the same about Halloween horror show Ouija. Registering an anaemic 7% on Rotten Tomatoes and an embarrassingly low IMDb 4.4 user rating, Ouija managed to achieve the unfortunate distinction of being equally reviled by filmgoers and critics alike. Mercifully, as yet there havent been any announcements of further instalments in the offing, but it wouldnt exactly be a shock if such a thing were to come to pass. Ouija pulled in enough customers eager for a seasonal scare to take home almost $76 million and chalk up an impressive profit margin. A piddling $5 million budget all but guaranteed healthy returns, so it wont be the last time a similar, cynical cash grab rears its head - in cinemas across the globe and on this list.
