2. Jennifer Aniston Vs A Leprechaun - Leprechaun (1993)
In terms of lame humour and silly shenanigans, Leprechaun isnt too far removed from Troll 2 (with Jennifer Aniston in the Connie McFarland role), but lacks that films snap and cant match it for unintentional laughs. Also, instead of a veteran Italian schlockmeister at the helm, the director is Mark Jones, a former story consultant on The Scooby and Scrappy Doo Puppy Hour. Its the kind of feature that lends itself to franchising because the eponymous creature (who rides a tricycle like Billy the puppet in Saw) is waaay more interesting than anyone else onscreen. The movies token female, Aniston gets the Daphne Blake role (shrill and annoying, screams a lot for no reason, suspiciously danger prone etc) which naturally requires her to be partnered with a square-jawed would-be hunk whose unfunny friends provide comic relief. Every supporting character is a one-dimensional clown who gets five minutes of screen time tops before being killed by Warwick Davis as he searches for his gold. There thats enough plot for six sequels. Just be sure to change the cast and the setting each time and one day the world will be ready for the cinematic marvel that is Leprechaun: Origins.
