10 Most Shocking Betrayals In Superhero Movie History
1. Captain America Reveals He Knew Bucky Killed Tony's Parents (Civil War)
Remember when Captain America almost lifted Mjolnir at Stark's party in Age Of Ultron and Thor wet himself a little bit? The reason he wasn't worthy to lift it was because he was harboring a dark secret which, if it came out, would mean the end for The Avengers.
In Captain America: Civil War, the films opens in 1991 with the then brainwashed Bucky Barnes opening fire at a car in the middle of a highway murdering the two passengers and stealing the super soldier serum (say that with a mouth full of spaghetti hoops) the passengers were carrying.
Fast forward to present day and in a tense stand-off between Cap, Bucky and Tony Stark, it transpires that the two passengers who were murdered in cold blood were Stark's parents. To add insult to severe injury, Cap then reveals that he had known Bucky's secret all along but kept it from Tony because of his loyalty to his oldest friend.
What ensues is one of the most incredible fight scenes in Marvel history as Bucky and Cap try to subdue Iron Man who, understandably, is an erupting volcano of rage and lasers. So. Many. Lasers.
