There's no denying that The Predator looks freaky enough as it is with it's mask on. An alien species that prides itself on battle prowess, the Yautja are sport hunters that target any others they can get a fair fight out of - bringing their weaponry and tactical mastery to annihilate prey and turn them into trinkets. Fun.

The original Predator movie lets us see first hand exactly what these extraterrestrial monsters are packing under their technology, with Arnold Schwarzenegger's Dutch squaring up to the titular baddie as it sheds its mask for some one-on-one action. And his reaction says it all, really: "You're one ugly motherf*cker." Harsh, but true.

Underneath its armoured exterior there lies a heavy jaw framed with mandibles, giving what was once an almost humanoid alien a far more distinct insect edge. Deep set eyes, scaly skin, and a whole load more mouth than any creature could possibly need, seeing this fella discard his mask for an evenly matched fight - and revealing the true face of the Yautja in the process - is still an absolutely gasp-worthy moment.
