10 Most Terrifying Horror Movie Villains You've Never Heard Of

5. Railroad Jack - Jack The Reaper (2011)

"His name is Railroad Jack... and if you've seen him, he already has eyes for you..." Far creepier and more memorable than the incredibly ropy film that houses him would suggest, the revenant called Railroad Jack (played with sinister glee by genre veteran, actor/stuntman and independent filmmaker Douglas Tait) haunts the railroads and has for a century or more. The material is tonally confusing and thematically confused: the script can't decide what the film's conceit is or who Jack is, and the director, while an able shotcaller, can't block a scene to save her life. The fact that the writer and director are the same person, Kimberley Seilhamer, explains a lot. That and the fact that genre veteran Tony Todd turns up in the opening act to chew some scenery and deliver exposition we don€™t even need yet, and it doesn€™t look good for Jack The Reaper. And yet, it should look good for Railroad Jack, because he€™s one of the most chilling villains in any horror movie I€™ve seen in a decade or more. Tait is simply wonderful in this silent, grinning role, his body language and manic, eyeless glare conveying more true chills than any of the rest of this muddled film.
