Talk to Me is the latest horror hit from the legendary indie studio. It is particularly impressive, as it was directed by the Philippou twins, who created the RackaRacka YouTube channel. But don't let their history deceive you; this is one truly scary project.
The film follows a group of teenagers who tempt fate by conjuring spirits through the embalmed hand of a medium. They soon become addicted to pulling this trick, leading to supernatural entities invading their lives and causing chaos.
This movie is an incredibly effective supernatural horror that manages to hit most of the genre's tropes while making them feel fresh and unique. The spirits seen in the film are haunting, and it's brought to life with excellent pacing, spacing out the big scares enough to keep you on edge but packing enough to stop you from getting too comfortable.
A particular highlight has to be the frequent possession scenes, which feature incredible acting, stellar editing, and terrifying sound effects. They are the movie's biggest selling point, and it's not hard to see why.
