10 Most Tragic Deaths In The History Of Comic Book Movies

4. Harry Hart (Kingsman: The Secret Service)

Kick-Ass Big Daddy Death
20th Century Fox

Even though he's set to appear in Kingsman: The Golden Circle, we don't actually know the circumstances surrounding his apparent resurrection; he could pop up in a flashback, or even a dream sequence. As a result, Harry Hart is very much dead, and besides, whether he fully returns or not, his death scene in Kingsman: The Secret Service is still shocking, and difficult to accept upon repeat viewings.

Like King Leonidas, you get the sense that Harry can't be killed. He slaughters a church full of bloodthirsty human puppets with apparent ease, and throughout Kingsman, he emanates confidence, charm and bucket-loads of bravery. Unlike Leonidas, however, Harry had a bit more too him than pure toughness and a 'hard-man' veneer, and his loss brought with it a sense of desperation - you truly felt like the villain, Valentine, had won, and the remaining members of the Kingsman organisation had almost certainly lost this battle.

Hart's role in the film is mercilessly cut short with a simple bullet to the head, and from then on, the movie had a giant Colin Firth-shaped hole in its heart. It was tragic to see such a fresh, likable character get gunned down when all you want to do is see more of him, and hopefully the sequel doesn't undercut the devastating impact his loss had on the first movie.

He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
