10 Most Underrated Slasher Movie Villains

8. President Nixon - Tripper

Maniac movie
Coquette Productions

Directed by Scream's David Arquette, this comedy horror film from 2006 sees a serial killer running riot at a music festival for hippies. The twist? Everyone is stoned out of their mind, and the killer is dressed as Ronald Reagan.

Having starred in every instalment of the Scream movie franchise to date, David Arquette should know his slasher movies - and he does. This is evident in Tripper, a bitingly funny, hilariously gory hack 'em up and love letter to 80s slasher movies.

Arquette's cast is great - featuring the likes of Thomas Jane, Paul Reubens and Jaime King - but it's the villain who really steals the show. Stomping about the place clad in a suit and Ronald Reagan mask, this dead President is at once amusing and unnerving. And, dispatching his victims with increasingly grotesque methods - from chainsaws to axes - he's certainly not afraid to get messy.
