10 Most Underrated Teen Comedy Films Of The 2000s

10. Accepted

Accepted is the story of a group of high school graduates who, upon failing to get into college, decide to run a scam that begins as a way to keep their parents off their backs but ends with them creating a unique new college. It's maybe not the best movie ever made, but the ideas it has are surprisingly representative of its generation. This movie came out right when the first wave of Millennials were coming of age, and it reflects their priorities. It's nice to have a steady job that pays the bills, but it's also important to do things that make you happy. South Harmon Institute of Technology allows its students a little bit of breathing room to find out what they're really passionate about. So it actually has a really nice message wrapped up in an otherwise generic teen comedy. Accepted is also the film responsible for launching the career of Jonah Hill, which can either be considered a positive or a negative depending on your point of view.
