4. Jason Mewes
Given that he was essentially plucked from obscurity by his buddy, Kevin Smith, it's no surprise that Jason Mewes has a habit of playing himself, for he's best known for being a crude, hilarious stoner and not much else. It is much easier to substantiate this fact than most simply because so much is known about Mewes' personal life; he has been a drug addict for most of his adult life - though has reportedly kicked the habit with Smith's help - which is obviously reflected in not only his prolific performances as Jay in the View Askewniverse films, but as the sleazy characters he has played in other films (namely the porn star in Smith's Zack and Miri Make a Porno). Whether Mewes will continue to play these sorts of characters now that he's apparently been sober for over 2 years remains to be seen, but we can't see him forging a role that's more iconic than Jay any time soon.
