2. Woody Allen

Though Woody Allen doesn't star in many of his own films anymore, whenever he does, you know exactly what you're getting; a neurotic Jew with women troubles and existential angst, essentially a not-so-exaggerated version of himself. Even when Allen isn't starring, the impression is always that his leads are channelling that Allen spirit, something that ventures into cliche when Allen actually does step out in front of the camera (like he did recently in the so-so To Rome With Love). Though Allen rarely grants interview requests, those clips of him talking about himself and his films on YouTube really clinches it; it is pretty much impossible to see where Allen's characters - who aren't named Woody Allen but pretty much should be - end and Allen the man begins. It's because they don't; they are practically one and the same.
