It's tough to imagine a man of Ryan Reynolds' confidence and swagger ever bombing an audition, and yet, that's exactly what happened when he tried out for a major role in the Coen brothers' acclaimed drama Inside Llewyn Davis.

Though Reynolds hasn't confirmed exactly which part he auditioned for, it's evidently either Oscar Isaac's lead role or, probably more likely, one of the supporting parts played by Adam Driver and Justin Timberlake. Reynolds said of his mortifying audition:

"I auditioned and failed for the Coen brothers...It wasn't the right fit, mostly because they’re very high class. They were just quietly shaking their heads, like, 'What are you doing here? Do you have a SAG card?'"
I was never a great auditioner...I had to sing, and I’m a nervous singer...and it was pretty bad. It's one of those auditions that was so bad that I look back and I think, 'What if that tape surfaces at some point? That'll be the death of me.' Yeah. That was pretty awful."

We can only hope that video might one day materialise online.
