8. Emperor Palpatine: Star Wars VII Villain?

Despite Star Wars VII plot and character details being kept tightly under wraps by director JJ Abrams and co., it seems like a day doesn't go by that we don't get a whole new set of casting rumours, costume details or story tidbits from a range of sources. Whether it's a detailed description of Daisy Ridley's outfit (apparently strappy sleeves are in this season) or Expanded Universe plots being teased, it can't be long now until we've heard every Star Wars rumour possible and everyone just has to shut up and wait for the film to just come out. Until then we'll keep you posted. The latest crazy rumour is that Emperor Palpatine (or Darth Sidious) will be the big bad of the latest trilogy, despite having plummeted to his death in Return of the Jedi. Well, we didn't actually see him die, did we? Supposedly he's going to be pulling the strings of the seriously wounded Empire and presumably Adam Driver's villainous character. Don't hold your breath on that one, though.
