10 Movie Characters Created As A F**k You To Real People

2. Shrek's Lord Farquaard Is Modelled After A Former Disney Boss

Who The Character Is: Voiced by John Lithgow, Shrek's Lord Farquaard is an uppity, obnoxious prig, complete with a Napoleon complex that encourages him to over-compensate by being wealthier, more powerful and more evil than anybody else in the kingdom of Duloc. He's possibly the most repellent villain in any DreamWorks film to date, ruling the land around him with an iron fist as he attempts to find a woman willing to actually marry him. Who He Really Is: In appearance almost certainly, and apparently also in character, Lord Farquaard is really former Disney CEO Michael Eisner. In response to a vicious falling-out Eisner had with former co-worker and DreamWorks boss Jeffrey Katzenberg, DreamWorks' first major hit created for itself a character with a face like a caricature of Eisner's and a grand palace that looks just like Disneyland. The people behind Shrek then gave Farquaard an ultra-ambitious, unpleasant personality and named him... well, what does Farquaard really sound like?
