9. Vanessa - Deadpool 2
Vanessa is a huge part of Deadpool's first movie. After the two meet, they fall in love almost instantly, and she is someone that will be there for him throughout the toughest part of his life. She is everything to Wade, and when Ajax brings her into their fight he snaps. By the end of the movie, the two are reunited and set to live happily ever after.
This wouldn't really work in the context of a sequel. By design, Wade is a damaged man fighting because he has nothing left to lose, so in Deadpool 2 the one thing he can't afford to lose is taken away. Vanessa's death is the catalyst for Wade to join the X-Men training programme, and their talk of children is what spurs him on to protect Firefist.
If you ignore the fact that she is brought back to life by the end of the movie, Vanessa's death was both shocking, and necessary for the plot and the character development we see Deadpool go through in his sequel.
