10 Movie Characters That Got Happy Endings They Did Not Deserve
1. Jim Preston - Passengers

There are some characters on this list that are irredeemably evil, and yet still found a happy ending. Passengers' Jim Preston however, was not like this, he was a man who was dealt a bad hand and made a string of mistakes.
Jim (Chris Pratt) was one of 5,000 on a 120-year-long journey across space. His hibernation pod malfunctioned however, leaving him to wake up early with no way of getting back under. Essentially, he was facing a 90-year journey with no company. A lifetime alone.
It's a horrible situation, and you can understand his mind being all over the place, but that doesn't excuse what he did next. He took his dire situation, and in trying to get himself some company, opened Aurora's (Jennifer Lawrence) chamber and damned her to the same fate. In that moment he took her entire life away from her, and forced her to live it on the ship with him.
Initially, he couldn't tell her that he decided to sign her death warrant like that, and when she thought it was a cruel twist of fate she fell in love with him. When she found out the truth, she was naturally angry, but the two still spent their lives together in love, in spite of Jim stealing her entire life from her.
