The Predecessors

Legendary X-Men villain Juggernaut first appeared on the big screen in Brett Ratner's doomed X-Men: The Last Stand. The casting of Brit bad-boy Vinnie Jones proved controversial with fans, to say nothing of his totally ridiculous-looking costume, and the ill-advised utterance of that one-liner.

Juggernaut was then recast for X-Men: Days of Future Past, with actor Josh Helman set to play a young version of the character.

However, Juggy was eventually jettisoned from the script and his role was filled by Quicksilver (Evan Peters) instead. Luckily for Helman, though, he ended up cast as a young William Stryker.

Third Time's The Charm...

The third and surely definitive screen version of Juggernaut came in Deadpool 2, where the character made a surprise appearance in the middle of the movie as an inmate imprisoned in the Icebox with Russell aka Firefist (Julian Dennison).

In addition to Juggy being sensibly realised through CGI rather than practical means, the character's voice was later revealed to be provided by Deadpool himself, Ryan Reynolds, albeit pitched down so as to be unrecognisable.

Between the fantastically gigantic design of the character, his hilarious vulgarity throughout the film, his oddly sweet friendship with Firefist and Reynolds' superb vocal performance, fans finally got the cinematic Juggernaut they so thoroughly deserved.
