Here's a man who is just going about his daily business, heading up an escalator in a suitably futuristic-looking building, totally unaware that Douglas Quaid, being chased by a mysterious group of villains, is hiding right behind him. Unfortunately for this man, at the top of the escalator is a welcoming party of highly armed men from the aforementioned group, who waste no time in opening fire upon Quaid. In true action hero style, Quaid uses anything he can to shield himself from the hail of bullets. What does he use? Just that guy standing in front of him. The poor sap takes a full volley of metallic death as soon as he reaches the top of the escalator, despite the fact that he's totally innocent. But things get worse, Quaid holds him in place, taking more and more fire until he reaches the top of the climb, only to then spin him round and shield yet more bullets. Then, just when you think his ordeal is over, Quaid tosses him down the escalator and into a second group of suspicious characters, just to buy some time. So to recap: completely innocent, takes seemingly four billion hits, thrown down the stairs. Excellent day at the office.
