1. Uwe Boll Challenges Critics To A Boxing Match, Kicks Their Asses
The Criticism: Uwe Boll is one of the worst directors in movie history, earning the dubious commendation of, "a modern-day Ed Wood", as well as almost universally negative reviews for most of his movies.
The Response: Boll is hilariously defiant and very vocal about his critics, stating, "I think I made a perfect House of the Dead movie, because it really shows how the game is. It's a lot of fun, it's over-the-top action." When Wired panned Postal, Boll barked at the writer, "Go to your mom and f*** her...because she cooks for you now since 30 years...so she deserves it." In 2006, Uwe Boll invited his 5 harshest critics to face him in boxing matches in an event hilariously dubbed "Raging Boll". Boll ended up defeating all five opponents, though many claimed that they were misled about the nature of the fights, and that Boll had promised training which never materialised. However, some contestants expressed greater admiration for Boll following the fight, and Boll himself remarked, "I now like the critics...Everybody who was in the ring showed guts. Nobody dived." Boll might be a terrible filmmaker, but the world would be a worse place without him. Love the guy. Which outspoken filmmakers shock you the most? Let us know in the comments below.
