10 Movie Directors Who Flipped Out At Critics

3. Paul Feig Tells Critic To "Go F*** Himself" After He Insults Melissa McCarthy's Weight

Paul FeigThe Criticism: Film critic and notorious douche Rex Reed referred to Melissa McCarthy in his review of Identity Thief as "tractor-sized", "humongous", "obese", and a "hippo". The Response: Paul Feig, who directed McCarthy in both Bridesmaids and the recent The Heat, took to Twitter to offer his own retort to the critic, "For his catty and school bully name-calling of the supremely talented Melissa McCarthy, I cordially invite Mr. Rex Reed to go f**k himself." Though Feig had no connection to the film whatsoever production-wise, he was just doing what a good buddy does and stuck up for his pal McCarthy. Meanwhile, all the outing gave Reed was another egregious blip to both his Wikipedia page and, as a result, his reputation (seriously, check his page out).
