In the modern era of moviegoing, it feels like we know basically everything about the production of any movie, from hundreds of inside baseball behind-the-scenes factoids from the shoot, to every single last Easter egg uncovered by intensely eagle-eyed fans on social media.

The Internet is a treasure trove for movie lovers wanting to know more about their favourite movies, then, but even so, sometimes some incredible facts end up slipping through the cracks, just waiting to be discovered by the masses.

And that's absolutely true of these 10 nuggets of cinema gold, which despite their fascinating and perhaps even scarcely believable nature, are little-known outside of each film's most die-hard fandom.

And so, we present 10 movie facts you almost certainly weren't aware of, from production revelations which will ensure you'll never see scenes the same way again, to mind-melting Easter eggs that've been hidden in plain sight for decades.

With the sheer amount of information and noise online these days, you can't be blamed for missing these stunning facts, even if you'll probably wonder how you never knew them before...

10. The Theme Tune Is Morse Code For "M:I" - Mission: Impossible

Everyone - and we mean everyone - knows the Mission: Impossible theme, which has been an iconic staple of the series since long before the Tom Cruise-starring movies were ever a thing.

Lalo Schifrin's unforgettable title track has endured for the better part of six decades since the original TV show launched in 1966, and yet, did you know that the tune itself quite appropriately contains a secret message?

The theme is best defined by two long beats followed by two short beats, which in Morse code perfectly translates to "M.I." - as in, Mission: Impossible. Mind. Blown.

Fans aren't the only ones shocked by this revelation, though - in 2023 while promoting the series' most recent film Dead Reckoning, stars Simon Pegg and Rebecca Ferguson expressed surprise at learning the fact for themselves.

And like that, one of the greatest themes in all of pop-culture just got even cooler. You'll never hear it the same way again.
