10 Movie Fan Theories That Became Fact
4. Transformers - Bumblebee's Voice
A surprise hit with critics upon release in 2007, the Shia LaBoeuf starring Transformers was a thrilling, genuinely funny and intense action thriller/coming of age comedy which finally saw director Michael Bay live up to his potential as a blockbuster film maker.
Well, live up to it for the first time since The Rock, anyway.
The young stars may have had great chemistry and the effects were impressive, but the film’s plot was very much standard “get the McGuffin from A to B” territory. This wasn’t a big problem for viewers, but the lack of effort afforded to plotting the storyline of this hit became obvious during a Q+A with the film’s writers.
When a fan suggested that the all-important Allspark was used to cure heroic lemon Bumblebee’s broken voice box, the film’s screenwriter admitted that the explanation made more sense than his own answer to how the voice box was miraculously returned to use.
Thus he said it might as well be canon, and now it’s an established piece of franchise lore.
