10 Movie Heroes Completely Outmatched By The Villain

When the Avengers first came together in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Loki was a worthy threat for the team to face. Three years later, they reassembled to save the planet from Ultron.

In both situations, Earth’s Mightiest Heroes proved they were deserving of that title, but when Thanos went on his quest, they were up against a different class of villain. The Mad Titan ran through both Thor and the Hulk like a knife through hot butter, before owning the rest of the Avengers, and the Guardians of the Galaxy.

He basically destroyed the heroes of the previous 18 movies in about two hours.

As Thanos collected more and more Infinity Stones, he became more and more unstoppable. On Titan, he defeated Iron Man, Spider-Man, Doctor Strange, and most of the Guardians (though in fairness Peter Quill could've changed this if he kept his emotions in check).

By the time he landed in Wakanda, there was not a single Avenger that could hope to stop Thanos. They all tried and they were all brushed aside like bugs. The only reason the Avengers were ultimately able to defeat the Mad Titan was because he let them. He had done his part, and was happy to lose, as in his mind this wouldn’t undo his definitive, devastating win.
