7. Sex Scenes Are Usually Filmed Last

The work that goes into filming a sex scene is a common subject of fascination among audiences, given the extremely intimate amount of contact they typically require between actors, while being performed in front of a film crew no less.

It's not much of a secret that sex scenes are usually filmed on closed sets with no visitors allowed and only the most minimal skeleton crew permitted, but to further put the cast members at ease, these scenes are also typically shot at the tail-end of production.

In theory, this approach gives the actors time to become familiar with one another over the course of the shoot, not only making their on-screen chemistry more believable during the eventual shooting of the sex scenes, but also hopefully ensuring they're more comfortable being nude around one another.

Sex scenes are awkward at the best of times, however, and in light of the #MeToo movement, Hollywood has sensibly moved towards hiring intimacy coordinators for productions which require such extensive contact between actors.
