10 Movie Mistakes Directors Refused To Fix Because The Acting Was Too Good

The Mistake

Contrary to popular belief, it was always part of the plan for the T-Rex to break through the sunroof of the car in Jurassic Park and give Tim (Joseph Mazzello) and Lex (Ariana Richards) a good 'ol scare.

But whoever was controlling the T-Rex animatronic clearly got a little overzealous, as it was never part of the plan for the dinosaur to smash the plexiglass hard enough to crack it.

As a result, the animatronic ended up chipping a tooth, though this isn't evident in the final cut of the movie.

The Awesome Acting

Steven Spielberg decided to keep this take because the unexpected cracking of the plexiglass genuinely surprised and scared young performers Mazzello and Richards, prompting them to scream their lungs out with greater gusto than in any other set-up.

The results speak for themselves, because their fear is completely convincing and it's one of the most memorably terrifying moments in a movie full of them.
