10 Movie Moments More Terrifying When You Know The Truth
5. Nicholas Hoult Was Very Close To Having His Head Squashed In Chase Scenes - Mad Max: Fury Road
Instantly immortalising itself as one of the greatest big-screen spectacles of its time, the cinematic thrill ride that was Mad Max: Fury Road came equipped with some of the most unbelievable stunt work ever committed to film.
But with such pulsating and technical big-screen choreography also comes a very small margin for error, something Nicholas Hoult was made aware of from time to time whilst playing the role of Nux.
As the X-Men thespian would eventually recall to Wired when talking about what went into forging some of George Miller and co.'s out of this world vehicle stunt moments, Hoult remembered the odd moment when death wasn't all that far away at all:
"On Fury Road, we were protected, but a lot of the time, well, you were also hanging under a truck with a harness. They're saying, 'Don't scoot too far this way or your head will end up under the front wheel.'"
So again, much like Holland in Uncharted, with a lot of the on-screen chaos very much going on around him, there wasn't as much time spent on worrying about the "acting" part of the gig as you may have thought.
More energy was quite rightly focused on, you know, not having his head pulverised by a War Rig.
