3. Batman & Robin - The Bat Credit Card
Though not as gross-out offensive as
that scene, there's no doubting that this horrifying moment from the calamitous Batman and Robin left fanboys the world over feeling like they'd just followed Divine's example, or more aptly, that we'd been fed a sandwich of it by Joel "Bat Nipples" Schumacher himself. Even if we're able to contend with the overt homo-eroticism that binds the piece, and Arnold Schwarzenegger's hilarious hamminess, and how the film completely butchered Bane, the breaking point for most is when Batman and Robin find themselves in a bidding war over Poison Ivy, and as a literal trump card, Bats pulls out...the Bat...credit card... Schumacher even zooms in close so we can get a good look at how well he dumped on the Batman franchise; the expiration date reads "good thru FOREVER", and the director just about avoids a lawsuit from MasterCard by changing the logo to "GothCard". Would I like a credit card with a logo like this on it? Sure. But should Bruce Wayne have one? Absolutely freaking not. It is this precise moment at which Schumacher's Batman universe hurled itself irredeemably into the abyss, from which only Christopher Nolan would be able to save it 8 years later.
