10 Movie Moments That Look Like CGI But Aren't

1. Batman Scales Hong Kong - The Dark Knight

No film is ever truly perfect, but a release like The Dark Knight is pretty much as close as anyone is ever going to find. Christopher Nolan's sequel to Batman Begins and second entry into his Dark Knight trilogy might be remembered most fondly for its stellar villains brought to life beautifully by Heath Ledger and Aaron Eckhart, but it's important to also spare a couple of thoughts for just how much of a superhero Christian Bale is.

The film is filled to the brim with practical moments that audiences probably don't give the recognition they deserve, from the huge truck the Joker was driving flipping over, the real life Tumbler and Batpods actually being drivable machines, to the massive explosions that kill off Rachel and destroy the hospital.

However, one moment that is far more criminally underrated than most in the film is the sequence in Hong Kong where Batman scales the second tallest building in the region, the IFC 2, and leaps into the night to apprehend the corrupt accountant, Lau.

The sight of seeing Christian Bale on top of such a huge building immediately makes the entire sequence look plastered together with CGI, but this particular money shot really was taken on location with the very real Christian Bale looking over the Hong Kong landscape.
