1. Just the Face Posters
People like watching films with their favourite actors in them. Sometimes a movie will be marketed in a way which merely shows which massive star they have got in the lead role, the bluntest way this is done is by having a poster with just the actor's face on it. It doesn't say anything about the actual film apart from a weak tagline. It can be quite infuriating because you know people will see them and go 'Ooh! Let's go see that!' When the poster designers have probably only spent about an hour making it with no effort whatsoever. We all have actors who we will see in anything no matter what (hence why Movie 43 did quite well at the box office despite being the worst creation ever), but it would be nice to see a poster that tried a little harder to attract people rather than sticking a photo of Tom Cruise up and wait for the money to pour in. These posters won't die because they prove to be successful; even though they don't say much about the film; people still like them because it contains their favourite actor. This cliche is just laziness in its purest form but it's a cheap way to make posters and people still want them on their bedroom walls if they've got their favourite actors on them so they are definitely here to stay. Movie marketers know us so well...
