2. Overly Violent Bloody Posters
Slasher films and torture movies have become a lot more popular since the Saw films. The genre attracts a massive audience to the cinema and literally hundreds of films are made to target this audience. Posters are supposed to catch people's eyes - they're supposed to make you think 'Whoa! I want to see that!' Horror posters are becoming more and more grotesque but are still shown in the lobbies of cinemas where people of all ages can see decapitated heads, blood splattered weapons, severed hands, feet, fingers, dead bodies and organs. You name it and a poster somewhere has probably got it. For fans of these films the posters probably do make them want to go and see them but, for others, they can be an eye sore and can put people off. For horror, the posters have to be scary but horror has now developed into something where you just see people being sliced up in new, inventive and bizarre ways. It's very rare now to see a horror film where you can't sleep the night after watching it. However, disgusting posters won't die. Like a horror villain, they'll just come back again and again. Because the business for these films is booming and their audience is massive, these posters will still be made.
