All of the footage of planes soaring through the air featured trained and experiences aerobatic pilots, naturally. One such pilot came to an unfortunate and mysterious end when his plane spun out and crashed into the Pacific Ocean. Art Scholl, the pilot, and his plane were never recovered. Though the film itself is full of near accidents and a death, it is always hard to watch this classic and not be reminded that someone had actually lost their life for the sake of our entertainment.
