Ship Done Just because the studios behind our favorite movies are wallowing in virtual bottomless pits of money doesn't mean that they aren't frugal. And lazy. Big budget blockbusters cost well over $100 million to make these days, with payroll, effects, marketing, etc., so the ability to save a few bucks here and there becomes a treasured quality. One way to do that is to reuse set pieces and props that have already appeared in one film. Sometimes it's meant to be intentional, as an homage to an earlier work, but usually it's just pinching pennies and making use of available resources. Because there exists a sizable population of people who obsess over every seemingly insignificant detail and tiniest piece of minutia in their favorite films, the search for "easter eggs" in movies has become quite the hobby. Picking out that one minor detail that was put there specifically as a challenge for the audience to catch can be as entertaining as the movies themselves. Thanks to those very same obsessive nerds several instances of a prop being reused (in some cases repeatedly) has been has been unearthed and brought to light.
