10 Movie Sequels JUST Announced

Adam Sandler has built a career over the last few decades that few others would be able to boast. He is one of the most recognisable names in comedy, but he has also shown that he can step outside his typical comfort zone and put in a damn good dramatic performance as well.

However, even to this day, one of his best films is still Happy Gilmore. The ludicrous story of a hockey player, Sandler's titular character, taking the world of golf by storm with his unorthodox grip on the club, is heartwarming, hilarious, and as of very recently confirmed to be the subject of a sequel.

Though it seemed as though Gilmore had happily hung up his clubs, with his Grandma's debts paid and the fact that he never really liked the sport in the first place, there are countless ways to bring him back.

Happy Gilmore also benefitted from a truly detestable villain in the cocky and arrogant Shooter McGavin. Actor Christopher McDonald to this day still loves the character, and has on numerous occasions reprised the role for videos on social media, so it's hard to imagine him turning down the opportunity to return. Of course, there's no guarantee he would even be a part of the story anyway, but surely a cameo appearance at the very least is in order, right?
